Nick Mavar Jr., a former cast member on Discovery Channel's popular reality franchise "Deadliest Catch," has died at the age of 50. According to the Bristol Bay Police Chief, Mavar passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2023, in Naknek, Alaska. The cause of death has been determined to be natural.

Mavar spent 15 seasons on "Deadliest Catch," which follows the crews of fishing vessels in the Alaskan crab industry. He began his career as a deckhand on the FV Northwestern, captained by the late Sig Hansen.
